    HOT-WELD: The easy welding of Aluminum.

    Used by both pros and less experienced welders , HOT-WELD aluminum welding rods are used to repair aluminum motorcycle parts or their derivatives.
    Long reserved for professionals, the HOT-WELD welding rod makes aluminum welding accessible to everyone.
    This fine fusion rod allows good conduction thanks to the metal it contains, it has many qualities.

    What can I fix with chopsticks?

    Made of quality aluminum alloy, you can braze and repair almost all white metals and all other non-ferrous materials except stainless steel.

    What equipment is needed?

    Aluminum welding rods requires a simple propane torch to assemble the parts.
     Thanks to their low working temperature, the baguettes melt at a temperature of 390°C!
    How the aluminum is heated is not important, it just has to be reached and maintained at 390ºC while working.
     For most small jobs, it is possible to use a simple propane torch.
    As for important parts, you should use a combined propane and oxygen torch to heat evenly


    How to properly prepare the part to be welded

    The aluminum must be cleaned until the metal is exposed, removing rust (alumina) and all impurities (surface dirt, paint or coatings) the surface of the metal must be clean.
     Important : you must use a stainless steel brush, any other material will contaminate your aluminum and prevent adhesion).
     It is this cleaning that guarantees an optimal welding result.
     Make your solder within 10 minutes of brushing , otherwise the alumina will re-deposit.

    The procedure is simple:

    1. Start by cleaning your part and eliminate the alumina (or oxide layer) which could prevent good fusion. To do this, use sandpaper or a metal brush. Using a drill can also help save time.

    2. Heat your support to a maximum of 400°C using a propane blowtorch, of a power suitable for the part to be repaired.
    3. Use a baguette to weld quality aluminum for a neat and durable result. The rod should be positioned at an angle of approximately 90 degrees at the level of the solder.
    4. Vigorously rub the solder into the repair area until room temperature melts the rod.

    IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

    The thicker the piece , the more difficult it is to heat it, so it is important to use a reasonable heat source. (oxy torch etc)
    Storage : store in a dry and ventilated place / Do not use for Magnesium.

     No toxic fumes are released: neither toxins nor gases.
    The other advantage of the aluminum welding rod is that it can be combined with other rods, but this time in copper, brass or bronze.
